OYSAN Sanctions North Olmsted NOSO Cup and North Ridgeville Cornfest Kick-Off Tournaments

Richfield, Ohio . December 15, 2011: The Ohio Youth Soccer Association North (OYSAN) has sanctioned two tournaments to take place in summer, 2012.

The NOSO CUP will be held in North Olmsted, Ohio, from June 30 to July 1, 2012. It is hosted by North Olmsted Soccer Organization and accepts Recreational, Select & Competitive teams in the U8 through U19 divisions. The tournament website is: nosocup.org


OYSAN has also sanctioned the 2012 North Ridgeville Cornfest Kick-Off. The tournament is hosted by the North Ridgeville Amateur Soccer League (NRASL) and accepts Select & Competitive teams in the U8 through U14 age groups. Dates of the tournament are August 11 and 12, 2012. The tournament website is: www.cornfestkickoff.com

Premier College Combine

The Premier Combine & Seminar combines education and athletics to help players plan and prepare for the right collegiate program.

The Premier College Combine is a great way to be seen by college coaches during the winter months. Players are assigned to teams by position. Each player will play in at  least 3 - 15 minute games spread throughout the day in front of college coaches. The GaREAT Sports Complex has field turf fields with NO BOARDS. Each team consists of 5  field players and 1 goalkeeper. The college coaches will receive a resume book with a resume page for each participant.

TEAM NEWS ARTICLE: Cleveland Internationals Soccer Club U12 Boys win United Soccer League Super-Y Championship

For Immediate Release: December 8, 2011. Cleveland, OH – The Cleveland Internationals Soccer Club U12 boys Super-Y League team won the prestigious North American Finals in Tampa, Florida December 2 – 6. The boys clinched the championship with a 2-0 victory over the New Jersey Rangers, a team that had gone undefeated in the tournament. It was the Internationals’ third shut-out of the tournament after posting a 3-0 win over Ironbound Soccer Club of Newark, New Jersey and a 1-0 win over Fredericksburg Area Soccer Association of Virginia in earlier match play. Internationals also posted a 2-1 win over an “all star” West Pines, Florida team during the semi-finals, a win which went to overtime match play and penalty kicks for a final winning decision in favor of the Internationals.

The North American finals, featuring more than 130 boys and girls’ teams and nearly 2,500 players, was the culmination of the Super-Y League summer season, which included more than 700 teams from U-12 to U-17 competing in six regions across the U.S. and Canada. In July, the Internationals boys finished first in the Midwest Division with a 7-1-1 record, qualifying them for the finals in Tampa, Florida. More information at: www.uslsoccer.com.

The 2011 Internationals Champion Super-Y team was coached by Louie Nanchoff, former Professional Soccer Player, former member of the U.S. National Team (including the U.S. Olympic team and World Cup Team), former University of Akron standout player and co-founder of the Internationals Soccer Club.

TEAM NEWS ARTICLE: Cleveland FC Girls National Indoor Tournament Results

December 09, 2011. Richfield, Ohio. The regional competition of the National Indoor Tournament, was held on December 3rd and 4th, 2011 in North Olmsted, Ohio at the Soccer Sportsplex. Two girls teams from the Cleveland Futbol Club ---The U9 girls and the U10 girls --- both took home the championship for CFC, and qualify to compete in the National-level of the tournament.

The CFC U10 girls’ team members who competed in this tournament were: Blythe Gaspar, Gabby Schafer, Haley Anspach, Haley Curtis, Jessica Thomas, Julia Arellano, Lauren Cassidy, Maddy Grabowski, Phoebe Hood, Taylor Nicholson and Tori Lyncha. They are coached by Doug Coreno, and their team manager is Elizabeth Arrellano. The U10 girls compete in the OYSAN State League, the premier league of Ohio Youth Soccer Assocaition North, during seasonal play.

OYSAN Sanctions Bowling Green Soccer Challenge

Richfield, Ohio . December 7, 2011: The Ohio Youth Soccer Association North (OYSAN) has sanctioned the Bowling Green Spring Soccer Challenge to be held April 27- 29, 2012.  The event is hosted by Valentis Athletica Soccer Club and will be held at Bowling Green State University. Age groups range from Under 9 to Under 19 and offer both boys and girls divisions. Entry deadline for the tournament is March 25, 2012.

OYSAN has also sanctioned the Bowling Green Fall Soccer Challenge also hosted by Valentis Athletica. The event will take place August 25 – 26, 2012 for age groups U9 through U19. The entry deadline for this tournament is July 27, 2012.
